Awards include The Laura Ingalls Wilder Award from the South Dakota Reading Council for A Body of Work in Children's Literature, The Elizabeth Burr Award from the Wisconsin Libarary Association for Cranberries, Fruit of the Bogs, The Parent's Choice Award for Grandchildren of the Lakota, and Outstanding Achievements Books from the Wisconsin Library Association's Children's Book Award Committee for Farmer's Market.
