Biographical Information:

1944, Born in Deming, New Mexico to William and Elsie Walsh, first of five children.

1950’s, Moved to Minnetonka Village, a western suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

1960’s, Showed horses, rode PRCA barrels, attended South Dakota State University.

1968, Studied under photographer Jerome Liebling at the University of Minnesota.

1970, Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Minnesota with a Major in Photography.

1970’s to 2010, Worked as a freelance photographer. Married, two children, Luke and Katey Bellville. Remarried, living between rural Wisconsin and Western New Mexico.

1980’s to 2010, Authored and co-authored fourteen non-fiction photo books for young readers.

1968 to Present, Exhibited work in galleries and museums that included the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Walker Art Center, Katherine Nash Gallery at the University of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Museum of American Art.

2021- Smithsonian Institution purchases photos of the founders of the American Indian Movement, exhibits them at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.

Currently owner of the CWB Photography Studio and Gallery in Magdalena, New Mexico
